Application & Care
For those new to using a pure mineral product, the loose powders may be something quite new. Once you have mastered application you will wonder how you ever did without a pure mineral product. .
Loose Foundation
Apply your loose foundation vary sparingly, a little really does go a long way. Dab your brush into the minerals, shake off the excess and tap the brush handle on the bench top. This will disperse the minerals down through the brush fibres and allow more even coverage. Apply to the face with firm, circular motions, covering the face, eyelids and neck. The pressure and warmth generated will activate the pigments and depth of colour and will result in better, more even coverage.
Blush and Bronzer
When using blush and bronzer products, again apply sparingly. Collect a small amount of mineral powder on the top of the brush, tap brush handle on bench top and apply.
For blush, aim for the apples of the cheeks. Apply bronzer to the sun-kissed regions including nose, forehead, bulk of cheeks and chin.
Highlighter
Highlighter can be used anywhere where light reflection is desired but normally to the upper cheekbones, outer eye-socket and just underneath the outer brow. It is best to use a large flat eye shadow brush, like the large or small All Over Brushfor application.
Eye Shadow
Do not sweep loose eye shadow onto the lids. Use a suitable brush (large or small All Over brush) and place or push onto the skin. This will ensure dense colour and long wear. For deeper colour or a more illuminated finish, use the Mineral Eye Impact underneath. Its adhesive capabilities will strengthen hold and intensify colour.
Other products
The rest of your mineral products can be applied as you would normally use them. In regards to your mascara, be mindful that this natural product is not water resistant.
Removing your minerals
Minerals will wash away easily from the skin with gentle cleansing. A separate make-up remover is not necessary for the loose mineral foundation. However, the Mineral Remover is recommended for eye make-up.
Caring for your minerals
Due to the pure ingredients in Mandala products, they are delicate in nature. It is very important that they are stored well away from direct heat and sunlight. This kind of exposure may damage their consistency. Do not leave them in your car or near uncovered windows in the home or office throughout the day.
When opening your loose minerals, do not remove the adhesive seal entirely. Use a pin to adequately pierce only a few holes and tap out a small amount into the lid. This will prevent excess ‘fall-out,’ especially when travelling. Pierce five or six holes for foundation and blush and only one for eye shadow.
You may store your lip products and pencils in the fridge to keep them extra firm. This also helps when sharpening the pencils and reduces ‘break-off’. A good quality pencil sharpener is a must. Mandala offers a durable, double holed version making sharpening a breeze.
All powder products have a 2 year shelf life. All other products have a 1 year shelf life.
Caring for your brushes
It is recommended that you gently clean your make-up brushes every few weeks with a suitable, pure facial cleanser or shampoo. Swirl the brush in the palm of your hand with cleanser, rinse and leave overnight to dry.
Your brushes should last many years if well cared for.
